Hotel

I've only been at the Taj a little over a month and all ready there have been way more famous people stay at the hotel this time around. First it was all the Cricket players from both the England and India teams. Harbhajan Singh (one of the better and more popular players on the India team) was getting interviewed not to far from the door of my room. All the Taj wives (there are three girls here just hanging out while their husbands work and we call them this) befriended Irfan Pathan - another one of the more popular players. Below is Kartik and Irfan - he used one of the Taj wives to get an introduction.


The English players were fun to have at the hotel - they were very cute! Especially the captain Kevin Pietersen! There were a lot of people hanging around the hotel trying to get things signed from all of the players - it was a fun week. Of the games they played in Delhi - I think 2 or 3 -India won all the games.

About a week or two later the PM of Afghanistan stayed at our hotel and I've never seen security so tight. They had even closed down the gas stations in the area and cars that were normally allowed to park outside of the hotel had to park somewhere else further away. I still laugh at some of the security they have - they have this metal detector that they have at one of the doors to the hotel. There are about 4 different doors you can enter through right at the main entrance, but they only have one metal detector. It isn't like they close down all other doors and just use the main one w/ the metal detector though. So basically some people will go through the detector and most don't - not sure of the point!
